[Junior] Field Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure | CET +/- 2
Early Field Engineer role tackling complex infra challenges, from customer deployments to CI/CD, across diverse tech stacks on a hyperscale-efficient next-gen cloud platform
We usually respond within a day
We’re a fast-growing startup in the cloud computing space. We believe that while cloud platforms are functionally great and quite powerful, they are built on legacy software and are irritably inefficient (and expensive!). Based on award-winning research and open-source tech, we have built Unikraft Cloud, a next-generation cloud platform that allows for exponentially better efficiency, performance, and security.
What You’ll Own
As an early Field Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in shaping both the user experience and our core infrastructure. You’ll work on real-world problems, engage deeply with customers, and operate across diverse environments and languages, from Rust and Go to Python and C++. You’ll be exposed to the full lifecycle of customer adoption, and your work will directly influence product direction and success.
Customer Deployments: Work directly with clients to onboard and migrate complex infrastructure onto Unikraft Cloud.
Infrastructure Optimization: Troubleshoot, refine, and ensure the performance and reliability of customer deployments.
Container & Linux Expertise: Leverage your hands-on knowledge of Docker, Dockerfiles, and Linux-based systems to support and scale infrastructure.
CI/CD Enablement: Design and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment and integration.
Technical Partner: Act as a trusted advisor, helping clients navigate the intricacies of next-gen cloud infra.
Product Feedback Loop: Collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering to incorporate customer feedback into our roadmap.
What We’re Looking For
Infra Fluency: Strong experience with containers (Docker, Dockerfiles), Linux, and CI/CD design.
Problem-Solver: Excellent debugging and optimization skills with a customer-focused mindset.
Communicator: Comfortable working across technical and non-technical teams.
Versatile Engineer: Ability to learn fast and adapt to different runtimes, build systems, and environments (Rust, Node, Go, Python, C++, etc.).
Extra Points: Familiarity with OCI standards, QEMU/KVM, Firecracker, Cloud-Hypervisor, and direct customer-facing experience.
Why You’ll Love This Team
Next-gen product: A hyperscale-efficient cloud built for serious infra needs—built on research, battle-tested by customers.
Build your Favorite Work Set up: A generous equipment budget to spend on anything you need to do your best work.
Fully Remote, Fully Flexible: Work from your favorite place, work at your favorite and most productive times.
Retreats, Game Nights and More: Fun-focused team retreats and other events to recharge and build great relationships.
The Standard Stuff: Competitive Salary, 6 weeks vacation, development opportunities.
